Chinese New Year - The most important thing

People all over the world, from Liberdade (in São Paulo) to Thailand, from the American Chinatowns to Hong Kong, are celebrating the Chinese New Year this weekend. It is the longest and most important festivity in the Chinese calendar. 2012 is the year of Dragon and although there are a lot of aspects related to it, people's prayers always ask for success, happiness and mainly for a prosperous new year.
But of all the aspects involved here, the most important one is exactly the possibility of such traditional celebration being taking place out of China, in many countries and territories with significant Chinese populations. Chinese who are living out of their country can celebrate it according to their tradition. And people from the place where they are living now not only genuinely respect that but also take part in it. It's the most fantastic aspect because if there is respect..all the other things can be achieved. Without respect, nothing is possible. It reminded me my favorite Chinese proverb
"If there is beauty in the soul,   
there will be beauty in person. 
If there is beauty in the person, 
There will be harmony in the house. 
If there is harmony in the house, 
There will be order in the nation. 
If there is order in the nation, 
There will be peace in the world!"
I'd like to wish everybody a very Happy Dragon Year, full of prosperity and respect. The kind of respect that will lead us to peace, at least our own peace. What about you, what would you like for the Dragon Year?
